Dance at your wedding – beautifully
You can learn to dance with confidence and poise to “your song” to create a special memory of your first dance as husband and wife. I can help you select a dance that best fits your chosen song or I can assist you in choosing a song that will make your first husband and wife dance an experience to treasure for years to come. In addition, lessons can also be scheduled for the father-daughter dance or the mother-son dance.
I can prepare both of you for your husband and wife wedding dance in four to ten weeks. Ten weeks is preferred but not necessary.
The Joy of Dancing
Dancing keeps keeps your body flexible, improves your balance, increases your lung capacity and makes you stronger. It is a fun way of working out.
Dance provides an excellent way of meeting new people and making new friends. It elevates your mood and brings music and rhythm to your life.
Studies have shown that ballroom dance can improve short-term memory and cognitive function. One study noted in the New England Journal of Medicine reported that the only physical activity to offer protection against dementia was frequent dancing. The split-second decisions involved make it great for staying smarter longer.

I have two left feet. Can I learn to dance? While not everyone can become a championship dancer (or even wants to be), anyone can learn some basic steps so they can enjoy their time on the dance floor.
What are the advantages of private lessons? You will be the focus of the class since you are the only student or couple in the room. You will be able to decide which dances you want to learn. You can learn at your own pace. If you can’t make your regularly scheduled day and time, we can find another time slot convenient for both of us. You won’t have the frustration of either getting behind the group class if you miss a lesson or waiting on the class to catch up to you.
How long does it take to learn to dance? That depends on your natural ability, your commitment to practicing, how many dances you want to learn, and what level of accomplishment you hope to achieve. Why not schedule a class and see how you like it?
What do I wear? Students should be comfortable. Casual dress is fine. If you’re coming from work or from a workout, no problem!
Don’t I need a partner? No, your instructor can lead or follow to give you the experience you’ll need before you try your skills out on the dance floor.
Do I have to sign a contract for a group of lessons? No, there is no prepaid contract.
How often should I schedule a class? Students do best with weekly classes. This gives you time to practice what you’ve learned, but not so long that you forget the previous lesson if you didn’t practice.
What kind of shoes should I wear? Shoes should not be able to slip off your feet (no flip-flops or mules). It is preferable that the soles of the shoes should allow your foot to swivel on the floor rather than grip the floor, which can strain the knees and hips.
Do you ever teach more than one couple? There is room for two couples in the studio and on-site instruction can be scheduled for parties.
What forms of payment do you accept? Payment can be made in the form of cash, check, or credit card. You may pay as you go or pay ahead for multiple lessons, whichever is more convenient for you.
How much do you charge? Because I don’t have to pay floor fees, I am able to keep my fees lower than the big studios. I charge $50 for a FULL HOUR for a single or a couple. If there are two couples, the fee is $60 per hour.
So you think you want to learn to dance, huh? Well, not only can we promise you that you’ll learn some amazing stuff but the best part is that you’ll have a blast doing it! My husband was scheduled to retire in a year when we decided to treat ourselves to ballroom dance lessons in preparation for the big retirement party. We had one private lesson a week and had such a fun time we always looked forward to coming back. Cari has a near psychic ability to gauge just how much new information you can absorb. You will never feel pressured, you will never feel overwhelmed and you will never feel that dancing is beyond your capability. Try it! You’ll love learning to dance with Cari.Cathy & Stephen M., Orangevale, CA May 13, 2015 5/5 stars
My husband and I wanted to learn to dance for our daughter’s wedding. With the help of Yelp, we were able to find Cari. Since neither of us possess any dancing talent, we knew we would need an instructor that was kind and patient. Not only was Cari both of those things…she was also very fun! We had more fun than we ever expected and we learned to dance! If you want to learn to dance and want to have fun doing it, I would highly recommend Dancing With Cari!!!Diane & Glen H., Shingle Springs, CA January 27, 2015 5/5 stars
Cari, Thank you for making our special dance come together. It was a great pleasure working with you. We were bummed that we had to cut it a little short, but it was very fun and turned out perfect!Mike and Ashley, newlyweds thank you note, 2013
Cari was very accommodating on a short notice, her prices were great, and we had a great time learning how to dance with her! You can really feel her experience! Highly recommended!Briana G., Folsom, CA July 4, 2013 5/5 stars
My husband and I took dance lessons with Cari so we could dance at our wedding. Cari listened to “our song” and helped us determine the best dance for the song. She was professional, patient and helped both of us to learn the dance so we would be comfortable with it on the big day. Thanks to Cari, we had a wonderful first dance! Lessons were private and tailored to us. They were held in Cari’s garage/studio and were very reasonably priced.Sara S., Folsom, CA November 14, 2012 5/5 stars
I promised my wife we would take dance lessons as a birthday present. After much angst and searching for the right place, I was fortunate to stumble upon Cari’s web site. She is extremely friendly and was very accommodating of our respective schedules. The instruction takes place in her converted garage studio, and she is very knowledgeable and patient during each lesson. Her rate for private lessons is also very reasonable. Overall, our lessons were very enjoyable and I highly recommend Cari to anyone looking to improve their dancing skills in a relaxed, professional setting.Bruce M., Fair Oaks, CA November 10, 2012 5/5 stars
